How to choose Watermelon

1. The watermelon should be heavy in size as after cutting it will be best for watermelon juice.

2. Check the field mark. The mark is the position where the watermelon rested on the field. If it contains a yellow spot then the watermelon is ripe. If it has a white spot this means that ripening is not sufficient and will also be less sweet.

3. Hit a watermelon if you hear a deep sound then it is good and strong, if the sound is flat then avoid it. 

 

How to cut Watermelon

1. Wash the watermelon in running water and then dry it. Remember don’t wash after cutting wash it before. You can refrigerate the watermelon or if you forget then refrigerate the juice to make it chill.

2. After that cut the watermelon into 2 parts.

3. Cut each part into 4 quarters.

4. After that slice each quarter to 2.

5. Take out then the seeds from each slice with the knife. 

6. Lastly, remove the flesh (red part) from the rind (green skin) and discard it. 

7. Cut the flesh into big cubes.

  • Pepper powder – ¼ tablespoon 
  • Sugar – 1 tablespoon
