Aloo fries ingredient –

For Aloo:

  • 5 medium-size potatoes washed and peeled
  • 2 cup water 

 

For potato crispy fry:

  • 12-15 curry leaves
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tablespoon 
  • Mustard seeds/Rai – 1 tablespoon 
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tablespoon 
  • Red chili powder – ½ tablespoon 
  • Garam masala powder – ½ tablespoon 
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil

 

How to make Potato fry at home –

For Aloo:

1. For the aloo wash them peel them off and cut them into small cube sizes.

2. Now put the cut potatoes in a bowl pour water and let them soak for a few minutes after soaking take them out and dry them till used further.

 

For potato crispy fry:

1. Take a pan add 2 tablespoons of oil and heat properly otherwise potatoes can stick to the bottom.

2. Now add 1 tablespoon cumin seeds, 1 tablespoon mustard seeds, and curry leaves. Fry them for a few minutes till cumin seeds and mustard seeds turn brown. Turn the flame high.

3. Add the potatoes in it and mix well. Fry and stir continuously for 3-5 minutes on low flame till they become soft. 

4. Turn the flame medium and then add ½ tablespoon turmeric powder, ½ tablespoon red chili powder (avoid if making for kids), salt to taste, mix them with aloo properly. 

5. Now cover the pan and cook potatoes for 4-6 minutes on low/medium flame

6. Check-in between whether potatoes are fried and become soft with a spoon.

7. Now add garam masala powder mix it and cover them again to cook for 1-2 minutes. 

8. You will notice that the potatoes are cooked well.

9. Potato crispy fry is ready to serve hot with any meal of your choice.
